Google Classroom and Lesson Plans

Google Classroom is a very useful tool in G-Suite for Education. Google Classroom help teachers organize assignments, and allows them to collect information from students. However, there are several things that educators can do with Google Classroom in schools to make tasks easier. (Being a technology director, some of my posts will be beneficial to administrators as well as the teachers).

Creating lesson plans with Google Classroom is an effective way for administrators to help organize and receive information from teachers. Lesson planning is vital for teachers in the aspect of having guidance in the classroom so teachers and students can follow what's going on in the classroom. Lesson plans also help administrators to do observations in classrooms. Being aware of what's going on in the classroom is important to administrators.

Lesson Plan in Google Classroom:

This is a simple, but effective, strategy that was used to begin Lesson Planning at Charles Henderson High School in Troy, Alabama. The administrators wanted an easier way to receive lesson plans from teachers, and wanted to get away from paper. To set this up, an email was sent out at beginning of the school year, followed up by a staff meeting, to explain the changes to receiving lesson plans. As of today, both Charles Henderson High School and Charles Henderson Middle School use Google Classroom with teachers for lesson planning.

Teachers received notification, through their GMail accounts, with instructions on joining the classroom. Once teachers joined using the given code, they had instant access to the Classroom. The great thing about Google Classroom, is the fact that teachers are allowed to submit engaging lesson plans to the administrators. Teachers have the capability of submitting videos, small speeches and any other creative methods to send lesson plans.

I highly recommend schools who are G-Suite for education schools, use this tool to collaborate with their teachers. Any other ideas for using Google Classroom, please submit in the reply below.
